Everything you need to know about this house / villa for sale

This property is located near Tibidabo, on one of the hills that enliven the appearance of the Barcelona plain: the Putxet hill. Enric Sagnier built this single-family home that deserved the honour of being included in the prestigious magazine Arquitectura y Construcción (among others), which dedicated several pages to showing its interior and exterior appearance. As in other chalets of the time, the architect used Plateresque ornaments (a Spanish Renaissance movement) in order to enliven the openings of a building conceived as a revision of the typology of the Catalan country house or rural house. Specifically, he adopted elements such as the entrance door, reduced to a simple lintelled semicircular arch, or the galleries of the attics (resolved by repeating small arcades or with the classic motif of the Serlian window, formed by an arch flanked by two lintelled openings).

This house, located in an exclusive area of Barcelona, was an example of delightful Catalan architecture, the setting for several architecture magazines and the filming set for one of director Woody Allen's most acclaimed films: Vicky Cristina Barcelona .

We enter the property through an imposing wrought iron gate to a porch, where there is a very large parking space for several vehicles and the main entrance to the house. Then, its majestic arched door leads us to a entrance hall that leads to a large dining room living room of about 74 m². To the left, we have an imposing oak staircase that connects to the upper floor , while to the right, there is a library converted into an study. This beautiful living room, with its high, coffered ceilings, is distributed into two other areas: an immense and bright dining room with a table with capacity for 20 people and a wonderful living room that gives special prominence to its fireplace. From both sides, we can access a bright gallery that leads to a terrace where there is a spectacular pool in which we see walls of the Putxet mountain.

Back in the dining room, we head to an office room with a breakfast table that connects to the kitchen. This area extends towards a staircase that goes down to the wine cellar and a service area also accessible from the exterior. This service area includes a laundry and ironing area, kitchen, dining room, a full bathroom and two bedrooms.

The first floor, which we reach via the wonderful wooden staircase, houses the night area, although almost the entire floor belongs to the master suite. Here we have two dressing rooms of about 24 m2 each, a 23 m2 bathroom and the bedroom with the bed and office area of about 50 m2 . In addition, it has access to a private terrace of 30 m2. This floor is completed by another bedroom with an en-suite bathroom .

On the third floor we see a large double bedroom of 41 m² that gives access to three en-suite bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. From this floor, we can enjoy a 21 m² terrace with views of a large part of the city of Barcelona. We highlight the ceilings on this floor, as they are made with attic-style wooden beams.

The property is equipped with air conditioning in all rooms, gas heating and a lift to all floors. The main entrance porch also has access to an interior garage and an exterior entrance that connects to the wine cellar and service area.

The decoration and style of this property reflect a unique elegance, worthy of prestigious recognition.
