Platja de Punta Prima is six kilometres from Sant Lluís (the only urban centre founded by the French in the 18th century), situated between the points of Marbres and Prima, as well as next to the development of the same name and Torre de Son Ganxo. From its shore you can see the islet s'Illot des Cagaire and the island s'Illa de l'Aire. This beach is a wide, open sea inlet with low-lying rocks, crowned by residential houses that reach the seafront. It is also characterised by its medium size, sandy bottom with some areas of algae and underwater vegetation on the sides, exposure to moderate waves, prevailing winds from the south-east to the south, a very gentle slope, crystal-clear water, as well as a high influx of local bathers and tourists. The marine and underwater conditions advise against anchoring boats, since the shallows populate this inlet.

The east-northeast part is dominated by a low rocky coastline, whose slabs that jut out into the sea give it the name of Punta Prima or Cap de l'Engany/Enganyó. For this reason, sailors are advised to stay away from the coastline at a distance of more than one hectometer from the coastal section between its eastern eminence and Cala d'Alcafar.
